After breakfast, meet your guide and begin your Cappadocia journey with a climb through the tunnels of Uçhisar Castle, the region’s highest natural viewpoint. Continue to the Göreme Open-Air Museum, where rock-cut churches and monastic dwellings offer insight into early Christian life in Cappadocia. The painted frescoes, carved directly into soft volcanic rock, reflect centuries of spiritual tradition and artistic expression.
After lunch, drive to the old village of Çavuşin and begin your first hike through the colorful Rose Valley. Today begins with a scenic hike through Pigeon Valley, walking from Uçhisar toward Göreme (approx. 2.5 hours – graded easy). The trail gently descends through a landscape dotted with ancient dovecotes carved into the cliffs, once used to support agriculture and village life.
From Göreme, continue by vehicle to Kaymaklı Underground City, where you explore a fascinating subterranean world of tunnels, living quarters, storage rooms, and chapels carved deep underground as refuge during times of invasion.
In the afternoon, travel to the lesser-known Soğanlı Valley, offering a quieter and more rural perspective of Cappadocia. Here, you will enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family, taking part in a meaningful cultural exchange. This experience directly supports the local community and provides an authentic opportunity to share stories, traditions, and everyday life, with your guide assisting in translation.
Overnight in Cappadocia
Optional early morning hot air balloon flight may be arranged for those wishing to experience Cappadocia from above. Drifting silently over valleys and rock formations at sunrise offers a completely different perspective of the landscape. After landing, enjoy a celebratory drink and return to your hotel for breakfast (subject to weather conditions).
Later in the morning, enjoy a walk through Love Valley (approx. 2 hours – graded easy). Known for its distinctive fairy chimneys and open views, this trail showcases some of Cappadocia’s most iconic scenery. Despite its playful nickname, the valley’s original name — Valley of the Vines — reflects its agricultural past.
After lunch, the afternoon is free to relax, explore on your own, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Cappadocia.

Later, begin a hike through Sword Valley and continue into the richly colored Red Valley (approx. 2.5 hours – graded easy). The trail passes towering rock formations, narrow passages, and striking geological features before reaching the rock-hewn Kızlar Kalesi Monastery, offering breathtaking views across the valley.
In the afternoon, an optional Jeep Safari experience can be arranged for those who wish to explore Cappadocia’s more remote valleys and eco-gardens by open-top vehicle. This eco-friendly adventure offers panoramic views and access to hidden corners of the region not reachable on foot.

Enjoy a gentle hike along the Melendiz River, surrounded by greenery and dramatic cliffs, before exiting near Selime Cathedral, an impressive rock-cut complex reflecting the region’s monastic past.
On the return journey, stop in Avanos, a town founded by the Hittites along the banks of the Kızılırmak (Red River). Here, you will visit a local pottery studio to watch an interactive demonstration of traditional kick-wheel pottery, a craft practiced in the region since the 2nd millennium BC.
